For people who suffer from experiences of alienation and unreality, it is often not so easy to say anything in detail about these symptoms. It is therefore helpful if you take the time to observe your condition for a few days to get a better feel for your own experience. You can use the following diary for this.
Please assess a few times each day how strongly you perceive the symptoms of alienation. It is best to use a scale of 0-10 (0 = no feeling of alienation at all; 10 worst feelings of alienation imaginable).
Above all, you should record situations and activities in which feelings of unreality suddenly arise or change significantly, i.e. become stronger or weaker. Can you recognize patterns?
If possible, try out different situations and activities, e.g. doing sports, meeting friends, spending time in nature, or observe situations that arise for you, such as stress at work or arguments, and note whether these have an influence on the perceived strength of the experience of alienation.
Can you consciously do something to improve or worsen feelings of alienation?
